Details of the project:
CMS Asia Pacific carries out maintenance overhauls of DGS uphole unit enclosures. The enclosures require mandatory maintenance every four years as determined by the NSW Resources Regulator. CMS is licenced by the NSW Resources Regulator to undertake work on flameproof equipment and has a team of qualified, expert technicians who work on the Underground In-Seam long hole directional drilling survey tools.

The overhaul process includes:
- Determining baseline condition of the equipment and establishing a minimum level of operation
- Verifying if there is any damage and removing any damaged glass
- Measuring enclosures and completing AS3800 inspections
- Inspecting and testing external I.S. cables and sockets and replacing glands as required under the AS/NZS 3800 Standard.
- Reassembling and testing
What value does this project provide:
Maintenance of the DGS enclosures mitigates risk by ensuring accurately placed holes are drilled safely. It also ensures continued, safe coal production.
